If there was a list of art that has inspired other art, The Lady of Shalott would rank very, very high. The Lady of Shalott is a poem written by the famous Victorian poet Alfred, Lord Tennyson, based on the Arthurian legend.
There are two versions of the poem
Here you will find the 1842 text, lots of pictures, and notes on psychology and gender issues
Here is the 1832 version, more pictures, and some explanations
Lots more paintings
These are my personal favourites:
By Henry Peach Robinson
By Howard Pyle
Probably by Sangorski Alberto
Hahaha! By someone on the internet called Mishikal. Genius :)

Tennyson is never better than the Arthurian poems. My favorite is “The Lotus Eaters.”
You’re right, “The Lotos Eaters” is a great poem. Tennyson always has such an enchanting rhythm in his poems, I think.
