I attended a lecture the other day, and got quite distracted indeed. So I decided to share with you this group or wide-eyed beautiful young men who started a revolutionary art movement, the Pre-Rafaelite Brotherhood.
Dante Gabriel Rossetti, self portrait
William Holman Hunt, (detail of) self portrait
John Everett Millais, self portrait. (Millais painted that one beautiful Ophelia portrait!)
William Michael Rossetti, portrait by the other Rossetti, mentioned above, who was his brother.
Frederick George Stephens by Holman Hunt
Apparently, noone felt the need to paint poor Thomas Woolner or James Collinson. Maybe they were just not pretty enough?
Its easy to forget how young they were – and the talent!
